Some History on Teeth Cleaning
Before we get into the why of using a tooth-gel/toothpaste to clean our teeth lets reflect back on some history in the arena of tooth cleaning shall we.
I have done a bit of a search around and found a couple of interesting facts
- Oral hygiene was a top priority in society as early as 5000 BC? The world’s oldest-known formula for toothpaste was created by Egyptians
- They crushed rock salt, mint, dried iris flowers and pepper and mixed them together to create a cleaning powder
- Although this concoction is known to create bleeding gums, research suggests it is the most effective compared to most toothpastes used as recently as a century ago.
So from most of my research and the few facts that are around it seems we have been obsessed with cleaning our teeth. So much so that our ancestors it would seem, were happy to brave the pain of bleeding gums from the harshness of the gritting tooth cleaning processes
From all the data available to me it seems the very first T.V commercial to air was for a toothpaste called Gibbs SR Toothpaste. The commercial air in Britain on television screens in 1955 and from information sourced was a success. We sure have come along way since the old black and white tube days of commercials.
Teeth Cleaning and Toothpastes Today
Today we have a huge selection of teeth cleaners from toothpastes to tooth-gels and they all tout their benefits to your mouth.
Everything from whitening to fresh breath for hours after we brush, which logically speaking would be difficult since the moment you have a coffee or smoke a cigarette that fresh breath is long gone.
There are some other problems I have found with most mainstream toothpastes these day as well like :
- Gritty ones – you feel like your brushing with sand.
- Sickly sweet ones – tastes like you brushed with Fairy Floss.
- They burn the absolute crap out of your mouth and gums
I have also noticed over the years that there really is no substitute for quality. I have tried so many different brands and even purchased some claiming to have things like aloe vera in them only to read the ingredients to see that the aloe vera is virtually non-existent – it’s the last ingredient on the list meaning it has the least amount of that ingredient in it
Forever Bright Tooth-gel
The selection of toothpates for your teeth are endless and every-one is different but after many years of trial and error I use and trust Forever Bright Tooth-gel from Forever Living Products.
There are a few qualities I look for in a toothpaste or tooth-gel. Quality is also important to me and to know it is safe and effective for the whole family to use is also on the top of my list.
With Forever Bright, I love the gentle minty flavour and smooth texture. I also found that with regular use my bleeding gums stopped and my cold/hot sensitivity was reduced.
The biggest thing that lots of people say to me who use the tooth-gel is they love how clean and smooth their teeth feel.
My family’s biggest love of the tooth-gel is it doesn’t burn the inside of their mouth.
That is why I never go past Forever Bright Aloe Vera tooth-gel. I have been using it for over 10 years now and I love it. It ticks all my boxes for what a quality tooth product should be and I love that fresh clean teeth feel.
Formulated for the entire family to use, Forever Bright contains only the highest quality ingredients. It is also suitable for vegetarians since it contains no animal by-products.
Natural peppermint and spearmint flavouring leave your mouth feeling fresh and clean. The combination of stabilized aloe vera gel and bee propolis soothes gums and mouth linings, and can be applied directly when brushing is too painful.
- Aloe Vera gel number 1 ingredient
- It doesn’t burn your mouth
- Safe for the whole family
- Kills germs and bacteria that cause tooth decay
